Welcome to Touchstone Ministries. Do you need a safe person to talk to? Are you feeling confused or discouraged? Are you having relationship struggles, need someone to listen to you, or have a bad habit you want to break?

Touchstone Counseling provides one-on-one counseling free of charge to both the church family and the greater Kelowna community. We have a team of counselors ready and willing to provide emotional support.

Besides one-on-one sessions, Touchstone Counselling also provides "Inner Healing Prayer".
Who is this for?

Anyone wanting to address "triggers" that seem to be rooted in past painful experiences.

What to expect:

A 90 minute appointment with a ministry team of one or two people.

WHO WE ARE

We are a team of trained Christians and members of Evangel Church, called and gifted in the counselling ministry. Each of us have at least a Level 2 Lay Counsellors Training Certificate. Sharon Egert provides oversight to the counselling team.

WHAT TO EXPECT

When you call, we will take your name, number and the reason for your call. We will give you further information and answer your questions. If you would like to proceed with counseling, one of our team members will call you back within a few days to make an appointment.

All counselling takes place at Evangel Church. Sessions last 50 minutes. After 6 sessions, progress and goals are looked at and further counselling needs will be considered.

All information is held in strictest confidence!

If you would like to make a donation, you can do this with the church receptionist at your convenience.

MEET OUR COUNSELLORS

Marty Luksts
Has been a self-employed air-craft mechanic for 34 years. He is married and has 2 adult and 2 younger children.

Mary Hardy
Has her Early Childhood Education diploma and has worked in the field for 16 years. She also has a Christian Education Degree from Berean Bible College. She is married with 2 married children and 2 grandchildren.

Sharon Sharon Egert
Is a Registered Professional Counsellor in BC. She has her Bachelor of Social Work degree and is a Level 1 Certified Addictions Counsellor. She is married and has 3 adult children.

Tarja Jardine
Is an Administrative Assistant for a local non-profit missions agency. She has received training as a 100 Huntley St. Phone Counsellor and is currently on Evangel's Inner Healing Prayer Team. She is married and has 3 adult sons.

Tony Smid
Has a certificate in Christian Counselling and Marriage and Family Ministry. She has also trained as an Inner Healing Prayer Counsellor. Prior to this she was a Registered Nurse in Holland. She is married with 5 children and 10 grandchildren.

Sylvia Lehmann
Sylvia Lehmann has been a Legal Administrative Assistant Instructor for 10 years. She is currently with Okanagan College, Kelowna Campus. She has her Provincial Instructor Diploma and has also taken numerous counselling courses. She is married with 2 adult children.

Clint Dukacz
Clint Dukacz has been the custodian for Kelowna Christian School for 7.5 years. He is married with 3 step children and 4 grandchildren. Besides singing in the choir and participating in a men's prayer group, his favorite thing to do is to cook. He has worked in the restaurant industry for 14 years. Other hobbies include fishing and travelling and he just returned from a missions trip to Zambia.
