A big hello to the faithful team that surrounds me.

I can certainly relate to the Apostle Paul when he often write about being thankful upon every remembrance of his faithful friends and supporters. I say Amen to that, as I thank the Lord for all of you.....

Here are a few highlights from the HMI BC April files.....

The beautiful April roads
that I traveled on the way
home from Langley.
After a few office days during the first week, I took at trip to Langley and Surrey. There I met with the owner of the Surrey Eagles Junior A club, Ronnie Patterson, where we discussed the possibility of a new chapel program with the team. I am pleased to tell you that he was quite receptive to the proposal. During this trip, I also met with Chris Wiens, who will start as the new chaplain of the Langley Chiefs Junior A club. We had a wonderful time together! Also, I met with Blake Holenstein, who will be the assistant chaplain of the Chiefs. Blake is a great young guy who will be an asset to the program in Langley.

chaplain and Chris Wiens,
chaplain of the Langley
Chiefs.
The next week saw me drive to the beautiful communities of Kimberley and Cranbrook. There I met with Bill Gooding, the new chaplain of the Kimberley Dynamiters Junior B club, and Michael Hayes, who is the chaplain of the Kootenay Ice of the Western Hockey League. I also had a meeting with the parents of a former player that I had in chapels a few years ago. I am sure that they are not Christian people, so I was very happy that they were willing to meet with their son's chaplain.

chaplain of the Kimberley
Dynamiters, Bill Gooding.
Also, we had a lady that attended a hockey related funeral that I officiated at, come to our Life Team (small home group) last week. She has received Jesus by faith, and we are excited to see her grow in the Lord!

I met with my own Westside Warrior team Coach, Mark Howell, and discussed giving New Testaments out to the players this year.

Meeting with Michael Hayes,
chaplain of the WHL's
Kootenay Ice.
Mark was in agreement the idea. Also, I offered to accompany injured players if they are taken to the hospital etc. This initiative will be taken to the teams trainer, who I pray will give the green light. These are just some of the ideas that I am proposing for my Warriors Junior A club here.

Just a few days ago, I made another trip back to Langley and Surrey. Ronnie Patterson wanted me to meet the Head Coach of the Eagles, Shane Kuss.

With HMI staff member from
Strathmore Alberta,
John Bechtold
This meeting was important, for without him embracing the chapel program, it simply will not happen. I also facilitated a meeting with the Langley Chiefs Coach, Harvey Smyl and his new chaplain, Chris Wiens. Harvey and Chris connected well, which I am thankful to the Lord for. Finally, I wanted to connect Chris with his new assistant chaplain, Blake Holenstein. I am very sure that they will enjoy working together on the chaplaincy program for the Chiefs.

Whew!! I think that is about it.... a lot of traveling and coffee-ing! I do appreciate you all as a team in making this ministry possible. We do see some ministry fruit already, but the Lord sees many more long term results than we do.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.... the Lord Himself will provide....
