Once again, to all the Hockey Ministries BC team,

What would we be without the transforming power of Jesus in our lives? These days I am reminded of what the Lord can do in hearts, and just how dependant on Him we must be. I pray that the Lord reminds us of that often.

Lorraine and I with friends
and family, celebrate her
50th birthday!
The ministry of HMI is dependant on the life changing power of God, and the unseen work of the Holy Spirit. This dependence on the Lord is a key element in this faith walk through the hockey world. This month we have seen some steady progress in chaplaincy programs and potential hockey camps. Here is a brief rundown:

At a conference with
Monte Harrop (Quesnel
Chaplain)
In the first few days of March I attended my church's district conference, where I was able to make quite a few connections, and meet with a few chaplains from around the province. From there I had an opportunity to meet with Paolo Aquilini, who is one of the owners of the Vancouver Canucks. We had a real good time together, and I pray that someday we will have a chapel program with the team.

Friend and mentor,
Pastor Ted and Christine
Boodle from Langley.
Soon after the conference I attended my Uncle Glenn Richmond's funeral in Victoria, which was difficult, and yet on the other hand, a tremendous eternal graduation celebration. God bless my Aunt Ruby as she faces the daily challenges of life.

With Daman Milsom, winner
of the Chaplaincy Award at the
Warriors Awards Banquet.
Daman is a brand new
Christian!
After speaking at the Evangelical Free Church in Merritt, I spent time in the office, setting up meetings and appointments. Out of that came some good news! I have had a positive response to my proposal to meet with the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League's Board of Governors. This is a Junior B league, where chaplaincy programs have yet to really develop. However, I am looking forward to the Lord opening chaplaincy doors in Junior B hockey across BC!! (I am also in contact with Junior B leagues in the lower mainland and the Kootenays.)

At a conference with Danny
Cousins (Nanaimo Chaplain)
Much of this month saw shorter Okanagan trips for me, with meetings and stops in Penticton, Summerland and Vernon. Even at games I attend, I run into Coaches, players, etc, and continue to build a trust with them. As the season came to an end for my own Junior A club, I had a good opportunities to chat with many of the players as they were packing up to leave. I feel that there is a close relationships with the vast majority of them. I anticipate great chapels again next season here in Westside.

At a conference with Joey
Cyr (Penticton Chaplain)
This coming summer, there will be over 800 young athletes who will attend various HMI Hockey Camps around the globe. I am planning on assisting at at least one of these HMI summer camps. (which may take me out to eastern Canada.) Please be praying for these young boys and girls as they are exposed to the love of Jesus while they learn on-ice hockey skills.

Thank you so very much for standing strong,
