A CHRISTMAS APPEAL TO THE BODY OF CHRIST
Since this is the season when many individuals and families commit additional giving to programs that extend Christian love and make a practical difference in the lives of others, we ask that you please consider Church Serve.
Church Serve was birthed at Evangel in 2002. Evangel volunteers have served thousands of hours providing practical assistance such as cleaning, cooking, laundry, and food bank hamper delivery. We thank you! 2007 activity summary:
- 297 households received such support this year, many twice/month
- 403 food bank or emergency food hampers were delivered
- 3200+ hours served by 200+ volunteers from 26 churches
- 21 clients awaiting service
Church Serve trains, assigns and coordinates volunteers. As volunteers build relationships, they earn the right to represent and share Christ with their clients. In turn,
volunteers experience the personal blessing that comes from serving. Church Serve has been a low cost, high impact ministry. Last year's operating budget was $22,500.
We are determined to remain solvent as we strive to meet increasing demand. We need funding to hire 2 part-time coordinators to ensure day to day function and
volunteer/client follow-up. An additional $20-$40,000 would position us for healthy growth as we extend hearts and hands of service in the name of Christ. We need your
