Notes from the Block Family

We’re beyond the honeymoon stage in culture shock. Not easy but we’re on course and are not planning to return to Canada until 2010. Both Dawn and I are doing well in the language. We are able to read and write short stories and carry on meaningful conversations already. The kids are doing very well. The security situation continues to be tenuous. There have also been numerous threats against foreigners here by well-known terrorist organizations but we don’t live in fear. We concentrate on love and a sound mind for our purpose.
